Sprüth Magers is an international gallery dedicated to exhibiting groundbreaking modern and contemporary art. Since its inception in 1983, it has expanded from its roots in Cologne, Germany, and now has galleries located in Berlin, London, Los Angeles and New York, as well as offices in Cologne, Hong Kong, Seoul and Beijing. Its early shows in the 1980s featured a number of today’s most influential artists who continue to exhibit with the gallery to this day. The gallery now works with over 70 artists and estates and regularly broadens its program with emerging younger artistic positions. Sprüth Magers is known for its rigorously curatorial approach to its program and enduring devotion to its artists, many of whom regularly exhibit at the world’s most prestigious cultural institutions.

Sprüth Magers' Los Angeles location on Wilshire Boulevard, across from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, opened in February 2016 with an exhibition by John Baldessari. The building was designed in the late 1960s by the legendary West Coast architects William L. Pereira & Associates, originally created as part of a complex that includes the tallest building in the Miracle Mile district. Exhibitions have featured the work of, among others, George Condo, Hanne Darboven, Cao Fei, Louise Lawler, Senga Nengudi and Andreas Schulze, as well as LA-based artists such as Barbara Kruger, Robert Irwin, Arthur Jafa, Sterling Ruby, Analia Saban and Kaari Upson.
